v0.2 released!


Hey folks,

I pushed the first update to the playtest document today, based on some super speedy games that people have squeezed in over the past couple of days.

As well as just generally clarifying language and the order of things, I’ve made a few changes to the way that the basic move is presented. It’s definitely worth reading through the new document if you’re looking to play over the next week or so.

Here’s the changelog in full (I did this after the fact, so apologies if I’ve missed anything!)

Changelog (v0.1 -> v0.2)

  • Reworked Basic Moves to Risky Moves.
    • Removed the different verbs (sway, scramble) which were functionally identical.
    • Removed the ability to triumph (unconditionally succeed) on risky moves.
    • Removed the distinction between major and minor consequences.
  • Moved the Lure into a separate move, rather than bundling with the special moves.
  • Replaced the option to pick between two consequences with the option to resist your assigned consequence by spending a token.
  • Added a token reward to the minor scene and discussion actions.
  • Reordered setup so that Aspect creation comes before Character creation.
  • Added a section on making moves on other characters.
  • The Wrench has a new Lure.
  • Added a Truth to the Station sheet about the station being much older than our community.
  • Removed meatiness (sorry).
  • Some clarification & tidying of language throughout.
    • Notably, the term ‘keeper’ is now used consistently instead of ‘storyteller’ or using ‘aspect’ as the name of a role.
